Mahdi Ramezani has a diverse work experience in various technology-driven roles. Mahdi currently serves as the VP of Data Analytics & Architecture at Intelex Technologies ULC, where they are responsible for leading a team of ML Engineers and driving data excellence across the organization. Before this, they worked as the Sr Director AI/ML at the same company, where they provided leadership in ML science, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence and led a team in enhancing and measuring performance.
Prior to their role at Intelex Technologies, Mahdi worked as the Chief Technology Officer at ehsAI, where they developed and executed the company's technology strategy and ensured the timely delivery of new technologies for the product. Mahdi also worked at Motion Metrics, serving as the Director of Core Research and Development, overseeing project coordination, researching new technologies, and maintaining project plans.
Furthermore, they were a Machine Learning Lead and Senior Algorithm Scientist at Motion Metrics, where they led teams responsible for designing real-time monitoring systems and managing projects related to deep learning and machine learning. Mahdi also worked as an Algorithm Design and Verification Consultant.
Additionally, Mahdi has experience in Investigator and Scientist roles at Creative Destruction Lab and serves as an Ignite Grant Panel Member at Innovate BC, contributing towards the acceleration of commercialization of new technologies in natural resources and applied sciences.
Mahdi Ramezani obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering/Communication from Sharif University of Technology in 2007. Mahdi then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering/Bioelectric from the same university, which they completed in 2010.
Following this, Mahdi enrolled at The University of British Columbia and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2014.
Mahdi also obtained additional certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance in November 2016, and a Technical and Scientific Writing certificate from Mitacs and Faculty of Graduate Studies, UBC in 2012. Furthermore, Mahdi completed an Instructional Skills Workshop from the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, UBC in an unspecified time.
