Carmen Navia has a diverse work experience in the field of research and administration. Carmen started their career as a Laboratory Technician at Franklin & Marshall College, where they worked on multiple projects related to colon cancer biology. Carmen'stasks included producing new DNA fragments, introducing DNA into cells, and conducting cellular function studies. Carmen also served as a Club Funding Council Board Member, where they allocated funds for student clubs and activities and took detailed notes for formal meetings with college administrators. Carmen was also actively involved in student government, serving as a Student Representative and later as the Student Government Vice President. In this role, they planned and facilitated weekly meetings and organized school-wide events to engage the community. Additionally, Carmen gained research experience as a Research Technician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Currently, they are working at Integral Molecular as a Research Associate, primarily focusing on handling client samples and working with antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the pandemic.
