Pedro Amaral is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in telecommunications and network management. Since April 2006, Pedro has served as an Assistant Professor at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, teaching courses on network configuration and management and previously held the role of Teaching Assistant for various telecommunications courses. Pedro's research endeavors include a position as Lead Scientist in a Software Defined Networking project at Instituto de Telecomunicações since November 2013 and ongoing work at UNINOVA. The career includes past roles as a Systems Engineer at Siemens, where network management software was developed, and contributions to various projects at UNINOVA focused on digital city initiatives and network security. Pedro holds a Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering and multiple degrees from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
