Zhiyong Liu is a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Neuroscience (ION), Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Shanghai since August 2016, with expertise in neural stem cell research, cell fate determination, and RNA-Seq analysis at the single cell level, alongside high throughput CRISPR/Cas9 gene targeting. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Janelia Research Campus, focusing on neuronal stem cells from April 2012 to August 2016. Zhiyong Liu also served as a Senior Research Technologist and Graduate Research Assistant at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, specializing in mouse genetics and inner ear development from June 2007 to April 2012. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, an M.S. in Forensic Biology from Sichuan University, and a Bachelor of Medicine in Forensic Medicine from the same institution.
