Anthony D. Smith is an experienced professional in library and information services, currently serving as the Associate Deputy Director for Discretionary Programs at the Institute of Museum and Library Services since February 2020. Prior roles include Chief of Projects and Systems at the U.S. Government Publishing Office and Senior Program Officer at the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Anthony has a strong background in digital initiatives, demonstrated during tenure as Director of Digital Initiatives and Services at the University of Miami, where leadership in the development of digital technologies and resources was provided. With a history of enhancing grant programs for libraries and museums, Anthony is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with degrees in Anthropology and Library and Information Science, complemented by additional education in computer programming and biochemistry.
