Anya Seward is a seasoned Geothermal Geophysicist at GNS Science since March 2010, where responsibilities include leading the New Zealand Geothermal Futures Research programme with a focus on low temperature geothermal resources, thermal rock properties, heat flow, and geothermal surface features. Anya has held various roles, including GeoNet Data Technician, responsible for monitoring earthquake epicenters and supporting research projects, and Geophysical Project Coordinator, overseeing project planning and liaising with local government and community groups. In addition to current board membership at the New Zealand Geothermal Association and serving as Secretary for the International Partnership of Geothermal Technologies, Anya has a strong academic background with a PhD in Geophysics and Seismology from Victoria University of Wellington and a Bachelor of Science in Astronomy and Geophysics from Western University.
