Jessica Boyd

Director, Communications, Content & Community at Institute for Supply Management

Jessica Boyd has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of communications, marketing, and public relations. Jessica has held multiple positions at different companies, showcasing their skills and expertise in various roles.

With the Institute for Supply Management, Boyd has worked as the Director of Communications, Content & Community since September 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Communications & Membership from October 2020 to September 2021, the Director of Events & Communications from October 2019 to October 2020, and the Director of Product Marketing from May 2018 to October 2019.

Before joining the Institute for Supply Management, Boyd worked at Westbound Communications. Jessica'sfinal role at Westbound was as a Senior Account Executive from May 2015 to May 2018. During this time, they specialized in community outreach, media relations, marketing, and social media for various clients in Southern California. Jessica handled the ReadyOC campaign, the county's emergency preparedness initiative, and managed outreach activities such as public/community events, neighborhood outreach, corporate partnering, media relations, and more.

Prior to their role as a Senior Account Executive, Boyd served as an Account Executive at Westbound Communications from December 2013 to May 2015. In this position, they focused on community outreach, media relations, and social media for clients in the transportation, healthcare, and government sectors. Jessica managed the ReadyOC campaign and coordinated targeted public outreach for the SR-57 Northbound Widening Improvement Project.

Before becoming an Account Executive, Boyd worked as an Assistant Account Executive at Westbound Communications from September 2013 to November 2013. Jessica'sresponsibilities included media relations, writing, research, and account administration/reporting assignments.

Boyd also gained valuable experience during their time at Chapman University. Jessica worked as a Sports Information Assistant/Intern from August 2011 to May 2012, where they provided support in sports information activities. Additionally, they held the role of Associate Editor for the Meta-Communicate Undergraduate Research Journal from September 2011 to April 2012, where they edited papers, promoted the journal, and improved editorial board's writing and teamwork. Jessica was also an Account Coordinator for Chapman Impressions, an on-campus PR agency, from September 2011 to January 2012. Here, they managed a team, provided client counsel, and created social media content and marketing collateral.

Boyd started their career as a Public Relations Intern at Westbound Communications from July 2011 to October 2011. In this role, they wrote and edited various PR materials, built media lists, conducted community outreach, and staffed client events.

With a diverse range of roles and responsibilities, Boyd has established a strong foundation in communications, marketing, and public relations throughout their career.

Jessica Boyd completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Marketing/Marketing Management, General from the University of California, Davis - Graduate School of Management. Jessica attended this program from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Public Relations and Advertising, Communication Studies from Chapman University, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Furthermore, they obtained an Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross in March 2021.
