Lucy Sheppard is a Principal Life Scientist at Instem, a position held since August 2005, focusing on drug target safety assessment and specializing in the management of biomedical ontologies/vocabularies and data mining of both structured databases and unstructured text. Prior to this role, Lucy served as a Bioinformatics Researcher at the University of Cambridge from 2000 to 2005, where analysis of gene expression data from Drosophila microarrays was conducted. Academic qualifications include an MRes in Bioinformatics from the University of Leeds (1999-2000) and a BSc(Hons) in Anatomical Sciences from The University of Manchester (1996-1999).
