William Gao is currently working as the Co-Founder and CTO at Instant, a fintech company focused on improving the consumer purchasing journey. Prior to this, they were employed as a Software Engineer at WiseTech Global from 2019 to 2021, with multiple roles during their tenure. In addition, they also worked as an Academic Mentor at UNSW in 2019.

William Gao's education history includes a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from UNSW. William also participated in the Accelerated Computer Science Fellowship Program at the University of Sydney and completed Accelerated University Subjects at UNSW. Additional education includes attending the National Computer Science School (NCSS) for computer science studies. Additionally, they completed a Financial Literacy with Models program at ClayMatter Training, which was conducted at AGSM @ UNSW Business School, focusing on financial modeling.
