Heikki Mansikka has a diverse and extensive work experience in the defense and aviation industry. Heikki currently holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the Finnish National Defence University. In 2022, they became the owner of Check Six, where they authored the book "Hornet-lentäjä" and also worked as a speaker. Prior to these roles, Heikki Mansikka served as the Chief Air Combat Scientist at Insta Group starting from 2019. From 2015 to 2018, they held the position of Senior Manager Pilot Performance at Etihad Airways. Heikki Mansikka has also worked with the Finnish Defence Forces, where they served in various roles including Operational Analysis and Research Manager, Squadron Commander of Fighter Squadron 21, Chief of the Air Combat Center, and Fighter Operations Officer at the Air Combat Center. Heikki Mansikka's career also includes a tenure as a Joint Fires Integrator at the US Joint Forces Command, where they contributed to the development of US Joint Doctrine and joint fires and was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal for their innovation and leadership. Additionally, they were a Student Officer at the Joint Services Command and Staff College. Heikki started their career in the Finnish Air Force, working in various pilot positions from 1996 to 2006.

Heikki Mansikka has an extensive education history. In 1992 to 1996, they attended the Finnish Defence University, where they obtained a degree as a Commissioned Officer, with a field of study in Air Force and Pilot training.

In 2006 to 2007, Heikki Mansikka pursued further studies at various institutions in the United Kingdom. Heikki obtained a Master's degree in Defence Studies from King's College London. Additionally, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Management from the Chartered Management Institute and an Executive Diploma in Strategic Management from the Chartered Management School.

Moving forward, Heikki Mansikka enrolled in Coventry University from 2014 to 2016, where they successfully obtained a PhD in Aviation, Aerospace, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
