Paul Coyne has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive at the Hospital for Special Surgery since May 2022. Before this, they served as the Vice President from June 2021 to May 2022 and as the Assistant Vice President, Clinical Practice & Chief Nursing Informatics Officer from March 2019 to June 2021 at the same hospital.

Paul also co-founded Inspiren in 2016, where they served as the Co-Founder. Paul played a key role in inventing and bringing to market a suite of hardware and software solutions called Augi, which utilized computer vision and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) to improve patient safety, clinical workflow optimization, and operational efficiency in healthcare settings.

Prior to that, they worked at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where they served as an Analytics Manager from November 2015 to June 2017 and as a Project Lead - Analytics & Data Visualization from April 2015 to November 2015.

Paul's earlier experience includes working at Goldman Sachs as part of the Derivatives Operations team from July 2008 to February 2012, where they were responsible for operational risk management and managing client relationships.

Paul started their career at Water Wizz Water Park in 2001, where they served as the Director of Operations/EMT. In this role, they managed a team of 110 employees, provided emergency medical treatment, and ensured a high level of service and professionalism.

Paul Coyne has a diverse education history. Paul started off by earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American Studies and Business Studies from Providence College in 2008. Paul then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Nursing from Columbia University in 2013.

Paul continued their education at Northeastern University, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Healthcare Management in 2014. During the same period, they also completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Finance from the same institution.

In 2015, Paul returned to Columbia University for further studies and completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in 2015. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Columbia University, which was completed in 2016.

Throughout their educational journey, Paul has obtained various certifications. In 2006, they became certified as an EMT-B by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Paul later obtained the Registered Nurse certification from the New York State Education Department in 2013. In 2014, Paul obtained certifications in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association. Additionally, they received the Nurse Practitioner - Adult Health certification from the New York State Education Department in 2015.
