Sonia Reed has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. In 2022, they began working as an Engagement Analyst at Innovu. Prior to that, they worked at Carnegie Mellon University from 2014 to 2022. During their time there, they served as an Operations and Project Support, managing data of a government cybersecurity training program, creating and adapting workflow to scale with program needs, and creating extensive documentation for communication and process improvement. Sonia also served as a Research Assistant in the Human and Computer Interactive Initiative on Fractions Tutor project, facilitating a pre-test/post-test model on the teaching efficiency of an online tutoring program for Mathematic skills with fourth and fifth grade students from local area schools. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh as a Museum Educator, creating and facilitating new content for art studio and facilitating training for staff and community educators on art studio accommodations for individuals with special needs. During their time there, they created a process to improve student registration flow, which increased student retention by 50%, and managed student registration, program marketing, financial tracking, and compliance standards.

Sonia Reed has a diverse educational background. Sonia began their studies at the Community College of Allegheny County, where they received their Associate's degree in Psychology in 2011. Sonia then moved on to Penn State University, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology in 2013. In 2015, they took Non-Degree Classes at Carnegie Mellon University. Sonia then returned to Carnegie Mellon University in 2016 to pursue their Master's degree in Public Management, which they completed in 2019. In addition to their formal education, they have also taken Non-Credit Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) through Coursera, as well as a variety of certifications through Coursera and LinkedIn.
