Clarice De Azevedo Souza is a Senior Project Manager at the Innovative Genomics Institute. Clarice has previously worked as a Department Coordinator and Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley, and as a Post-Doctoral Researcher / Associate Specialist and Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Energy & Biosciences Institute and the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, respectively. Her research has focused on the role of the plant cell wall in plant defense, and they have worked towards understanding how plants can integrate multiple “danger” signals during cell invasion to modulate the amplitude of defense responses.
Dr. Clarice De Azevedo Souza holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Molecular Biology from The University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology (General) from Universidade de SĂŁo Paulo.
