Ben Tan oversees the delivery of a portfolio of advisory engagements for partners who want to better use evidence and data for learning and improvement. He is currently leading MEL advisory engagements for projects in youth livelihoods, education and early childhood development in Uganda, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire. Ben previously worked with IPA as a Research Analyst on the evaluation of Partnership Schools for Liberia, a public-private partnership for education, and as an academic researcher on an evaluation of a social messaging campaign relating to teacher absenteeism. Prior to joining IPA, he worked as a management consultant conducting public sector evaluations. He holds an MPA (Development Practice) from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a BA (Development Studies) and LLB (Bachelor of Laws, with Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
