Collette Alleyne has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of education and the arts. Collette started their career as an Academic Recovery Teacher and later became an Assistant Principal at Opportunities For Learning from 2004 to 2007. Collette then worked as a Regional Supervisor at the same organization from 2012 to 2014. Before that, they served as an Area Curriculum Advisor from 2005 to 2007. Additionally, Alleyne worked as a Dance Instructor at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts from 2000 to 2004, and as an Adjunct Dance Instructor at Dillard University in 2003. Collette also worked as an Artist in Residence at New Orleans Ballet Association in 2002. From 2014 to 2018, Alleyne held the position of Director of Instruction, Summer Programs, and later became an Educational Programs Project Coach at Education Management Systems. Currently, they are the Chief Education Officer at Inner-City Arts, where they previously held the role of Senior Director of Education from 2018 to 2020. In their various roles, Alleyne has demonstrated strong leadership, program development, and staff management skills, and has actively contributed to the growth and impact of the organizations they have worked for.
Collette Alleyne holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, which they obtained from Pepperdine University in 2009. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Elementary Education and Teaching at the University of New Orleans. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained a certification in Social & Behavioral Research from the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative in March 2022.
