Rohit Valecha

Director Of International Programs at Initiatives of Change (India)

Rohit Valecha has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Rohit started their career as a Directors Assistant at Nandita Das in 2018 and later interned at Initiatives of Change (India). In 2009, they founded RV Foundation, a collective focused on promoting peace and social justice in South Asia. In 2012, they established Rohit Valecha Films, an independent film-making establishment with a focus on socially relevant content. In 2017, they founded Meri Kahaani, an initiative that aims to represent the lived experiences of women and promote gender equality in digital media. Currently, Rohit is working at Initiatives of Change as the Director of International Programs, a role they took on in 2022.

Rohit Valecha's education history is as follows:

From 2022 to 2023, Rohit attended the University for Peace (UPEACE) - UN Mandated, where they obtained a Diploma of Education in Global Leadership.

Between 2015 and 2017, Rohit studied at Whistling Woods International, where they earned a Diploma in Filmmaking.

From 2008 to 2010, Rohit attended Ness Wadia College of Commerce, where they completed Junior College and focused on the field of Commerce.

Starting in 1995 and continuing until 2008, Rohit attended Jai Hind High School, where they completed their High School education.

In addition to their formal education, Rohit has obtained several certifications. In June 2023, they completed the certification course "Global Diplomacy: Diplomacy in the Modern World" from Coursera. In May 2023, Rohit finished the course "Global Diplomacy: the United Nations in the World" also offered by Coursera. In April 2023, they completed the course "Feminism and Social Justice" through Coursera. Additionally, in April 2023, Rohit obtained a certification in "Nonviolent Communication" from the Center for Nonviolent Communication. Furthermore, in November 2022, they completed the course "Refugees in the 21st Century" offered by Coursera. In October 2022, Rohit finished the course "Internal Displacement, Conflict and Protection" from Coursera. In September 2022, they obtained a certification in "Beyond the Sustainable Development Goals: Addressing Sustainability and Development" through Coursera. Lastly, in June 2022, Rohit completed the course "Teamwork Skills: Communicating Effectively in Groups" from Coursera.
