Helen Chowaniec (Gerardi) is a highly experienced scientist currently serving as a Business Scientist & Group Lead at Ingredion Incorporated since May 2024. Prior to this role, Chowaniec held various positions at Ashland from November 2013 to June 2024, including Associate Principal Scientist, Senior Staff Scientist, and Staff Scientist, leading teams and managing analytical projects for pharmaceutical and personal care products. Chowaniec’s earlier career includes a NRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Naval Research Laboratory, where research focused on photoluminescence properties of ruthenium dye complexes, and a Graduate Research Assistantship at Yale University, earning a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, as well as undergraduate research roles at Stony Brook University and Princeton University. Chowaniec’s academic credentials include a B.S. in Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Stony Brook University.
