Marcus Souza is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the development of medical devices, particularly single-use devices for ophthalmic surgery. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Consultant at Ingenarious Consultants LLC since February 2018, Marcus oversees all phases of device development from concept to manufacturing transfer. Prior roles include Mechanical Engineering Consultant at Souza Engineering and Design, Project Engineer at altaviz, LLC, and Product Manager at Stryker, where responsibilities encompassed product concept development and launch for the SurgiCount Safety-Sponge. Significant contributions were made at Alcon Laboratories as a Surgical Instrumentation R&D Project Engineer, focusing on consumable products for vitreoretinal surgery, and earlier at Orthodyne Electronics in R&D and applications engineering roles. Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
