CJ Hernandez has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. CJ started their career as a Research Scientist at New York University's Medical School, where they worked for four years. CJ then transitioned to the U.S. Army Research Lab, where they served as a Software Engineer for two years, conducting research and development in adaptive-optics and control. CJ then joined EMC as a Team Lead and Sr. QA Engineer, where they led a team of seven and implemented QA processes using Python. After that, they worked at the NYSE as a Managing Consultant for three years.

In 2011, CJ joined Grupo Financiero Interacciones, initially as the Head of Trading Technology and later as the Head of Corporate Infrastructure. In these roles, they were responsible for networking, data centers, and servers for the organization, implemented agile methodologies, and led infrastructure emergencies. Following this, CJ became the founding CTO of BIVA MX, where they built the technology, teams, and processes to operate the stock exchange based on Nasdaq technology.

In 2019, CJ pursued independent consulting for electronic trading in Mexico before founding E-ventually. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the venture did not achieve product-market fit and eventually folded.

Most recently, CJ served as the Chief Product Officer at Infosel, overseeing a team of designers, product owners, and UX experts. CJ led a scrum squad in replacing the ticker plant with a Confluent Kafka solution on the cloud, following Marty Cagan's principles.

CJ Hernandez obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New York University in 2002. From 2005 to 2009, they pursued a MLA in Management from the Harvard Extension School, specializing in Management & Human Resources. Prior to that, they earned an Engineer's Degree in Computer Science from Universidad de Los Andes from 1989 to 1994. CJ Hernandez also completed their high school education at Colegio Salesiano El Sufragio from 1981 to 1987. In terms of certifications, they have obtained various certifications such as Certificación Infosel Hub, Python Basics, Business Transformation with Google Cloud, Google Cloud Product Fundamentals, HLS2x: From Trust to Promise to Contract, and Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC).
