Lasal Jayawardena is a consultant in AI engineering at Docupath AI, focusing on scaling AI systems for extensive document processing since July 2024. Concurrently, Lasal serves as an AI research assistant at both BT Group and Robert Gordon University, while also holding positions as an AI researcher, undergraduate research supervisor, and student ambassador for AI and data science at the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT Campus) since October 2020. Previous experience includes developing large language models at a confidential company, working as a software engineer in machine learning at 99x, and co-founding and serving as CTO of Elysianfield. Additionally, Lasal held various roles in public relations at the Mozilla Campus club - IIT. Education includes a BSc (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science from Robert Gordon University and a high school diploma with a focus on mathematics, computer science, and physics from Lyceum International School Nugegoda.
