Cody Mart has extensive experience in the field of optics and lasers. Cody is currently working as a Senior Optical Engineer at Infleqtion, where they are responsible for maintaining the precision laser ecosystem in their neutral atom quantum computer prototype. This includes tasks such as maintenance on laser heads, coupling light to a Fabry Perot reference cavity, and implementing automated scan features. Cody also measures the intensity and wavefront of laser beams for simulation purposes.
Prior to their current role, Cody worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as an Experimental Physicist. During their time there, they designed, fabricated, and tested rare-earth doped fiber lasers for directed energy applications. Cody also led optical design and beam control for a custom dye laser used in quantum atom optical interactions research. Additionally, Cody conducted various tests on nanosecond-class thin disk lasers and high average power diode lasers.
Before joining Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Cody worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Arizona. In this position, they focused on single-frequency power amplification using ytterbium-doped fiber amplifiers and conducted research on nonlinear fiber optical phenomena and advanced spectroscopy on novel fiber waveguides.
Cody's work experience also includes a role as an Undergraduate Researcher at Utah State University, where they gained initial research experience.
Overall, Cody Mart's work experience showcases their expertise in optical engineering, laser systems, and quantum technologies.
Cody Mart pursued their education chronologically, starting with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics at Utah State University from 2007 to 2010. Subsequently, they went on to the University of Arizona, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Optical Sciences from 2011 to 2017.
