Javier Blasco Herrera has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Javier started their career as a PHD student at Stockholm University, where they studied the kinematics of gas in Starburst galaxies. Javier developed their own routines for data processing and analysis, resulting in the publication of several scientific articles. After completing their PHD, they joined the Instituto de AstrofÃsica de AndalucÃa (IAA-CSIC) as a post-doctoral researcher. Their work focused on studying the evolution of isolated galaxies and utilizing python pipelines for image processing and data analysis.
In 2015, Javier worked as a freelance data scientist, taking on a role as a data analyst. This position allowed him to further develop their skills and gain practical experience. Javier then joined Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd in 2016 as a data scientist, where they worked on various projects. Javier eventually became a senior data scientist and remained with the company until 2023.
Javier's most recent position is as a senior data scientist at Infinitesima Limited, a role they began in April 2023. With their extensive experience and expertise in data science and research, they are well-equipped to contribute to the success of the company.
Javier Blasco Herrera holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics, which they earned from Stockholm University between 2007 and 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics, Astrophysics at Universidad de La Laguna from 2000 to 2007.
In addition to their formal education, Javier has obtained certifications in various areas. Javier completed the Grid Engine Advance Administration Training at Univa Corporation in June 2017. Javier also holds edX Honor Code Certificates for both "Learning From Data" (an introductory Machine Learning course) and "Scalable Machine Learning," obtained at an undisclosed time.
