Andras Kiss

Director of Research and Development at Infinite Cooling

Andras Kiss has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Andras started their career as a Lead Tinning Technician at Fancort Industries, Inc. in 2009. Andras then worked as a 16.622 Project Partner at MIT UROP from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, they interned at IEEE in the Future Directions group, where they contributed to database normalization, planning meetings, literature reviews, and video editing.

From 2010 to 2011, Andras served as a Help Desk Consultant at MIT Information Services & Technology, providing technical support. In 2011, they were an Operability Engineering Intern at GE Aviation, gaining experience in engineering operations.

Andras joined MIT Gas Turbine Laboratory in 2011 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Andras continued their research work there as a Graduate Research Assistant for their M.S. degree from 2013 to 2015, focusing on gas turbine technology. During this time, they also served as a Research Intern at GE Global Research in 2012.

In 2015, Andras became an Engineering Intern at Rescale, where they gained industry experience in engineering and technical computing. Andras then returned to MIT Gas Turbine Laboratory in 2013 as a Graduate Research Assistant for their Ph.D., working on high-performance computing (HPC) and systems administration. Additionally, they took on the role of HPC System Administrator, overseeing the maintenance and expansion of the lab's HPC resources and providing support to students and staff. Andras played a crucial role in transitioning to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Andras joined Infinite Cooling in 2021 as a Research and Development Engineer, progressing to Senior Research and Development Engineer in 2022, and currently serves as the Director of Research and Development starting from 2023.

Andras Kiss began their education at West Morris Central High School from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained an IB Diploma. In 2008, they also received a certification as a Private Aircraft Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration. After completing their high school education, Andras went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2009 to 2013. Following their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at MIT and obtained a Master of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from 2013 to 2015. Andras then furthered their academic journey at MIT, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from 2016 to 2020.
