James Mundie has worked in a variety of roles in the software engineering and hospitality industries. In 2013, they were a Project Engineer at Allards International Limited. James then worked as a Bartender at The Rufflets Hotel in 2012. In 2018, they attended CodeClan, a SQA accredited digital skills academy dedicated to bridging the skills gap in Scotland's digital industry. James then worked as an Associate Software Engineer at Tes from 2019 to 2022, and is currently a Software Engineer at Infinitas Learning Holding B.V.

James Mundie obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Strathclyde between 2008 and 2013. In 2013, they received a Certificate of Training in Solidworks Essentials from TMS CADCentre. In 2015, they obtained an EN13445 Training Course from Dynaflow Research Group. In 2016, they received a UKCC Level 1 Coaching Qualification from the SQA - Scottish Qualifications Authority and a Microsoft Project 2013 Advanced from QA Ltd. In 2017, they obtained a PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner.
