Stephen McConnell has a range of experience in the engineering field. Stephen is currently working at INEOS as a Lead Study Engineer since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Versalis as a Senior Process Engineer from 2019 to 2022, and as a Process Engineer from 2014 to 2019. Stephen also worked at Babcock International Group as a Process Engineer from 2012 to 2014, where they were responsible for the design and build of plants for the storage of liquid gases. Additionally, they had a role as a Student Process Engineer at Babcock International Group in 2011.

Stephen McConnell completed their education in the field of Chemical Engineering. In 2012, they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree from Universitat d'Alacant. Prior to that, they attended the University of Strathclyde from 2007 to 2012, where they also obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree. In 2010, they briefly studied at ICT Prague, earning another Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Chemical Engineering.
