Emilie Shumway is an experienced editor and writer specializing in policy and market developments within the scrap recycling industry. Currently serving as an Editor at Industry Dive since March 2021, Emilie previously held the position of Senior Editor/Reporter at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc. (ISRI). In this role, Emilie contributed to the bimonthly trade magazine Scrap by editing and writing news briefs and long-form features, along with managing various departmental sections. Additional experience includes freelance writing for diverse publications, serving as a graduate research and teaching assistant at West Virginia University, and coordinating grants for nonprofit organizations. Emilie's academic credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from West Virginia University and a Bachelor's degree in International/Global Studies from the University of Chicago.
