Jack Mitchell is an experienced Orientation & Mobility Specialist currently employed at Industries of the Blind in Greensboro since February 2022, and also works as an independent contractor providing services to visually impaired adults in central North Carolina since April 2019. With a background as a Vision Technology Specialist at Indigo Logix from May 2005 to February 2023, Jack specialized in sales, support, and training on assistive technology for individuals with visual impairments. Previous roles include serving as a Community Support Worker at Annas Resources from June 2001 to 2005, and as a Case Management Intern at Freedom House Recovery Center in 2001, focusing on supporting individuals with disabilities and substance recovery. Jack began a career in assistive technology as a Rehabilitation Engineer at the East Tennessee Technology Access Center from February 2000 to August 2001, performing evaluations and training on adaptive equipment. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree in Orientation & Mobility and Vision Rehabilitation Teaching from Hunter College.
