Heidi J. Syropoulos, MD, FACP, is an experienced medical professional currently serving as the Medical Director for Government Markets at Independence Blue Cross since December 2015. Prior to this role, Heidi held the position of Lead Physician for the Complex Care Program at Cigna, where management of a population health management team focused on enhancing the healthcare outcomes for Medicare Advantage customers in inner-city Philadelphia was a primary responsibility. Additional experience includes serving as Medical Director for Long Term Care at Erickson Living, Section Chief of the Primary Care Network at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, and various roles at Cleveland Clinic and Miami VAMC, with a strong emphasis on geriatric care. Heidi earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Reed College.
