Rhoda A. T. Brew-Appiah is a scientist with extensive experience in plant sciences, currently working at Inari since September 2020, focusing on transformation optimization in maize, soy, and wheat, as well as technology development for commercial crops. Prior to Inari, Brew-Appiah held a postdoctoral associate position at Washington State University from August 2008 to August 2020, specializing in marker development, gene expression analysis, and plant transformation related to root growth, hair development, and stress tolerance, along with phenotypic analysis for gene discovery. Additional experience includes serving as a graduate research assistant, where efforts were directed towards developing low-gluten wheat varieties and transformation techniques, as well as a research assistant role at OHSU, concentrating on HIV drug therapy related studies. Brew-Appiah earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Plant Sciences from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Reed College.
