Zak Cook has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Zak started their career as a Bookkeeper at S.M.A. Financial, Inc., where they performed tasks such as scanning and filing bank statements and checks, as well as conducting computer research for CPA information.
Afterwards, they worked as a Retail Associate at Peet's Coffee & Tea before joining Masimo as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern. At Masimo, Zak oversaw the production and design of Rainbow SET pulse oximeters and Neo sensors, and also constructed and designed fixtures to assemble the sensors.
Zak then took on the role of Special Projects Coordinator at PrescribeWellness, where they worked with a team to troubleshoot client engagement issues and ensure high-quality customer support.
Next, they joined Applied Medical as an Engineer 1, focusing on testing and designing laparoscopic grasper jaws and handles. Zak also designed engineering test equipment and performed product testing based on engineering protocols. Zak later transitioned to the role of Technician 1, where they continued to design and test laparoscopic grasper jaws and handles, and also worked on engineering test equipment and adjustment base plates.
At Edwards Lifesciences, Zak first worked as a Quality Engineer 1 before becoming a Manufacturing Engineer 2 - New Product Development. In these roles, they supported the commercialization of a tricuspid valve delivery system and executed process improvements, participating in design reviews and collaborating with suppliers.
Prior to their current position at Inari Medical as a Manufacturing Engineer III, Zak worked at enVVeno Medical as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. There, they supported the production of surgical and non-invasive venous valve replacements, managed a team, implemented process improvements, and performed process characterization of production lines.
Throughout their career, Zak has demonstrated expertise in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, team management, and product development.
Zak Cook began their education in 2012 at Irvine Valley College, where they pursued a degree in biomedical engineering in the field of mechanical engineering. Zak'stime at Irvine Valley College lasted until 2015. In 2013, they began studying mechanical engineering at the same institution, completing their studies in 2015. Zak then moved on to California State University, Long Beach in 2016, where they continued their studies in mechanical engineering.
