Maritza Mercado has extensive experience in early intervention and support services, currently serving in multiple roles at In STEPPS since March 2020, including Early Intervention Assistant, Clinical Quality Specialist, and Lead Behavior Therapist. Maritza employs Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) strategies to work one-on-one with children aged 2-5, while effectively managing data collection and client communication. Previous roles include Lead Assistant at the California State University San Marcos Financial Aid & Scholarships Office, where Maritza assisted numerous students with federal aid applications and trained new staff, and Career Peer at the CSUSM Career Center, where Maritza provided career support and managed outreach efforts. Maritza holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development, with a Minor in Spanish, from California State University San Marcos.
