Yan Zheng serves as Chief of Staff and Vice President of Technology at In-Q-Tel, where responsibilities include connecting government customers with innovative startups through R&D and technology development. Previous experience includes a role as Lead Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, supporting DARPA in technology strategy communication and coordinating partnerships across sectors. Yan Zheng holds notable fellowships with IEEE and AAAS, focusing on science and technology policy in the United States Senate. Earlier roles at Booz Allen Hamilton involved technical consulting for the Department of Defense, while academic research at UC Santa Barbara concentrated on high-speed vertical cavity surface emitting lasers. Yan Zheng earned a PhD and MS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UC San Diego.
