Uvernes Somarriba is a Machine Learning Engineer with experience in developing image classification and segmentation models, leveraging technologies such as Python, PyTorch, and scikit-learn for satellite image data. At Communications Research Centre, Uvernes designed a web application for satellite image processing, enhancing user experience through real-time capabilities. Prior experience at IMRSV Data Labs involved automating entity-property extraction from text using NLP algorithms and deploying applications with Django and React. At KX, contributions included enhancing a stream processing engine and ensuring product integration through rigorous testing methodologies. Uvernes also served as a Teaching Assistant at Carleton University, providing academic support to students, and conducted research on data augmentation techniques during the Dean's Summer Research Internship. Uvernes is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Carleton University.
