Mark S. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Mark is currently working at Improving as a Principal Engineer, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to this, Mark worked at Nerdery as a Senior Consultant from July 2020 to July 2023. Mark also held the position of Principal Software Engineer at Nerdery from April 2020 to July 2020. Before joining Nerdery, Mark worked at IBM as a Software Developer from June 2013 to August 2015. Mark also gained valuable experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Maverick Software Consulting from December 2011 to May 2013. Earlier in their career, Mark worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota from September 2011 to December 2011.

Mark S. earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 2010 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, they recently obtained two certifications from Confluent: the Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka and the Confluent Fundamentals Accreditation, both acquired in March 2022.
