Tom Boussie serves as an Operating Partner at Impact Science Ventures since December 2023, focusing on investments in significant scientific breakthroughs. Tom is also a self-employed Technical Entrepreneur. Previously, Tom held the position of Chief Business Officer at Sublime Systems from May 2023 to November 2023 and was an Executive In Residence at Activate from September 2021 to March 2023, aiding fellows and supporting organizational growth. As Managing Director at Activate Berkeley from March 2018 to September 2021, Tom oversaw a hard-tech fellowship program in partnership with Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Tom co-founded Rennovia, Inc., serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development from January 2009 to February 2018, and was a Board Member at Rebel Polymers from June 2016 to December 2017. Tom's career began at Symyx Technologies, where Tom served as a Distinguished Scientist from 1996 to 2008, holding over 100 issued patents. Tom earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
