Amielle DeWan is an experienced conservation professional currently serving as Executive Director at Impact by Design, Inc. since June 2016. In addition to this role, DeWan has been a board member for the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders Program and the Conservation Measures Partnership since 2012, and was previously a board member for the Environmental Leadership Program until January 2020. DeWan's prior positions include Senior Research and Monitoring Scientist at the International Fund for Animal Welfare and Senior Director of Conservation Research and Monitoring at Rare. Earlier in the career, DeWan held the role of Director of Conservation Planning at Defenders of Wildlife and Wildlife Monitoring Coordinator at the Hudson River Estuary Program. DeWan earned a Ph.D. in Natural Resources with a focus on GIS and Biometry from Cornell University and has also received credit in Wildlife Conservation from the School for Field Studies.
