Sharon Chung has extensive work experience in the field of medicine and research. Sharon started their career at Johns Hopkins Hospital as an Intern and Resident in Internal Medicine from 2001 to 2004. Sharon then joined the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and held various positions, including Clinical Fellow, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor in Residence, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, Director of the Vasculitis Clinic, and currently, Professor of Clinical Medicine since July 2021. In 2016, they also served as the Associate Director of Clinical and Translational Medicine at the Immune Tolerance Network. Additionally, Sharon Chung has been appointed as a member of the Arthritis Advisory Committee for the FDA since October 2021. Sharon is currently serving as the Medical Director of Clinical Research Services at UCSF's Clinical and Translational Science Institute, starting from November 2021.
Sharon Chung has an education history that includes earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Sharon also obtained a Master of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research from the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine. Additionally, they hold a medical degree (MD) from The Johns Hopkins University. Sharon Chung has also obtained certifications as a Diplomate in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
