Gabriel Espinal is a UAC Staff Attorney at the Immigration Counseling Service, a position held since August 2019. Prior experience includes serving as an Editor & Assistant to Publisher at Seven Stories Press from January 2011 to December 2012, focusing on editing and acquiring content. Gabriel's career also encompasses an internship at the Center for Fiction in late 2010, where responsibilities included drafting letters, preparing promotional materials for author events, and handling book sales. In 2008, Gabriel interned with the Movement for Justice in El Barrio, organizing tenants' associations in East Harlem. Gabriel holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Duke University School of Law (2016-2019) and a B.A. in Middle East and Asian Languages & Cultures from Columbia University (2005-2009). Additionally, Gabriel studied at the American Institute of Indian Studies in Madurai from 2009 to 2010.
