Claire Bourgain is a highly experienced pathologist and laboratory director, currently serving at Imeldaziekenhuis Bonheiden and as a consultant pathologist at UZ Leuven since December 2011 and September 2012, respectively. Claire held academic and clinical roles at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and UZ Brussel from January 2005 to February 2016, including positions as a professor and consultant professor at the Center for Reproductive Medicine, as well as director of the laboratory for pathology and head of the pathology department. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Reproductive Medicine and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Surgical Pathology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, complemented by a Master's degree in Medicine from the same institution. Additionally, Claire has undergone business training at Vlerick Business School.
