Sahar Zafari, PhD, is a Machine Learning Scientist at Imbio since May 2021, with prior experience as a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science from May 2020 to April 2021. During this fellowship, Zafari developed a deep learning model for breast ultrasound image quality enhancement and validated its performance with approximately 82% accuracy on 300 images. Previous roles include Data Analyst at Apple, where Zafari ensured data quality for OS X applications, and Visiting Researcher at The University of Texas at Austin, where foundational work in deep learning for breast MRI images was conducted. Zafari holds a PhD in Computer Vision and Image Analysis and a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, both from LUT University.
