David Mwenda has a diverse range of work experience spanning several industries. David has held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Imani Collective since 2022. In this role, they have been responsible for reorganizing departments, creating new ones, and implementing protocols to enhance collaboration. Prior to this, David served as the Head of Finance and Administration at Imani Collective from 2021 to 2022, where they introduced policies and procedures to increase accountability and efficiency.
Before joining Imani Collective, David worked as a Senior Consultant at Black and Gold Consulting from 2018 to 2021, providing expert advice and guidance. David also served as a Financial Consultant at Kenice Investment Limited in 2018, where they implemented financial policies, overhauled stock and cash management processes, and developed human resource policies.
David's previous roles include General Manager at Dandora Hiphop City from 2016 to 2017, Project Accountant at The Nest Arts Company in 2012, and Accountant at Pawa254 from 2012 to 2013. David has also worked as a Senior Accountant at Sunworld Safaris Ltd in 2011, Accountant at Twin buffalo tours and travel from 2010 to 2011, Project Accountant at PICHA MTAANI from 2009 to 2010, and Accounts assistant/credit controller at Skynet Worldwide Kenya from 2007 to 2009.
Throughout their career, David has implemented various financial policies and procedures, enhanced financial reporting, and improved efficiency in cash management and resource allocation. David has also demonstrated strong leadership skills in managing teams and implementing organizational changes.
David Mwenda obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Mount Kenya University - MKU, completing their studies from 2014 to 2019. Prior to that, they studied Finance at Oxford Brookes University starting from 2007. Their educational background also includes studying Accounting at Strathmore University in 2006.
