Dr. Portia G. currently serves as an Assistant Professor at North Carolina Central University and as a Community Hub Manager for Illustrative Mathematics. With extensive experience in education, Dr. Portia G. has held various roles including Adjunct Instructor at Johns Hopkins University School of Education, Portfolio Coach at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and NC New Teacher Support Coach for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Previous positions include Assistant Principal and Secondary Mathematics Teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Dr. Portia G. holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Masters Degree in School Administration from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Teaching from Clemson University.
