Kirk W. Madison has extensive experience in academia and scientific research. Kirk W. started their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris and the Kastler Brossel Laboratory. During this time, they held Chateaubriand and NATO-NSF Fellowships and conducted research from September 1998 to April 2001. Kirk W. then joined the University of Texas at Austin as a Research Associate from 2001 to 2003. In October 2003, Kirk W. Madison became a Professor at the University of British Columbia, where they currently work. Additionally, in 2016, they founded a company called illusense and serves as the Chief Science Officer.
Kirk W. Madison completed their education history with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tulane University in 1992. Kirk W. then pursued further studies at The University of Texas at Austin, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics in 1998.
