Martin Chian, Ph.D., serves as the Senior Director of Software and Bioinformatics for Clinical Genomics at Illumina since January 2017, leading a team of 70 in clinical software and data analytics. Previously, Martin held positions such as Senior Director of Software at Specific Diagnostics, where contributions included developing blood culture systems for rapid infection detection, and Senior Director of Engineering at Progyny, overseeing a multidisciplinary engineering team. Earlier roles at Auxogyn and NeuroPace focused on medical device software development and algorithm research, while Martin's career began at Logicon as a Research Scientist applying digital image processing. Educationally, Martin earned a Ph.D. and two Master's degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, along with a BA in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia.
