Alberto Brewer is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering and management. Currently serving as Associate Director Engineering at Illumina since May 2018, Alberto has held various engineering positions including Principal Engineer 1 and Senior Staff Development Engineer. Previous roles include Senior Project Engineer at Rain Bird Corporation and Mechanical Engineering Staff Manager at Nanthealth, LLC, where Alberto led the mechanical development and UL certification of a class II medical adherence wireless system. Earlier experience includes positions such as Mechanical Engineering Manager at Inseego Corp., Staff Mechanical Engineer at Kyocera Wireless, and Mechanical Engineer at Qualcomm, where Alberto was involved in the design and qualification of components for wireless handsets. Additionally, Alberto worked as a Manufacturing Process Engineer at Hewlett-Packard focusing on improving performance in high-volume manufacturing. Alberto holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management from UC San Diego.
