Elisa Cervantes Hamilton serves as Deputy Bureau Chief and Assistant Attorney General at the Illinois Attorney General's Office since August 2014, focusing on litigating qui tam matters under the False Claims Act in federal court and contributing to the recovery of over $450 million for the state and U.S. Prior experience includes practicing federal criminal defense at Durkin & Roberts, where Elisa managed discovery and case strategies, and complex commercial litigation at Bingham McCutchen, dealing with antitrust and securities matters. Additional roles encompass a judicial extern at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and a youth advocate at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Elisa holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a BA in Sociology from Georgetown University.
