Paul Bernard is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the financial and technology sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer in Security at Google DeepMind since May 2023, Paul previously held roles at Meta as a founding member and tech lead for the WhatsApp App Compromise team, focusing on malware-based account takeovers. Prior to that, Paul was an Executive Director and lead software engineer for FX algo execution services at Goldman Sachs. Additional experience includes positions at BNP Paribas, Aspect Capital, KBC Financial Products, Barclays, and University College London, covering areas such as low latency execution algorithms, algorithmic trading, and risk management. Paul holds multiple master's degrees from prestigious institutions, including London Business School and UCL, as well as an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
