Maria M. Cardiellos is the Executive Director of the IJIS Institute, a position held since July 2013. Maria's extensive experience includes serving as the Program Manager for the New Jersey Information Sharing Environment (NJ-ISE) and previously as the Chief of Staff and Executive Advisor for the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative Program Management Office. Additionally, Cardiellos was the Deputy Executive Director for the National Information Exchange Model Program under the Department of Justice and held the role of Chief Information Officer at the NJ Department of Law and Public Safety. Earlier career roles include Director of Consulting at iXP Corp, Deputy Director of Training and Technical Assistance at the Police Foundation, and Staff Assistant to the Police Director for the Newark NJ Police Department. Cardiellos holds degrees from Rutgers School of Criminal Justice and Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences.
