Nicaise Ndembi has had a diverse range of roles in their work experience. Nicaise currently serves as the Editor In Chief for the Journal of Public Health in Africa (JPHiA) at Africa CDC since 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Professor at Kanazawa University School of Medicine starting from 2015. From 2010, Ndembi held the position of Director of Laboratory Research at the Institute of Human Virology. Before that, they served as a Senior Molecular Virologist at the Medical Research Council, UK starting from 2007. During their time at the Medical Research Council, they completed their PhD in Molecular Virology at Kanazawa University, Japan. Ndembi's expertise lies in molecular virology and laboratory research.
Nicaise Ndembi attended the University of Yaounde -I in Yaounde, Cameroon from 1995 to 1997, where they completed a Master's degree (MSc.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. From 1997 to 1998, Ndembi pursued further studies at the University of Yaounde - I and obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. They then went on to attend the School of Medicine at Kanazawa University in Kanazawa, Japan from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Virology.
