Jay Johns has been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. Jay started their career as a director of operations for TGI Fridays. Jay then spent 3 years as a vice president of strategy implementation for Applebee's Services, Inc. In 2010, they joined IHOP as a senior vice president of operations. Jay was promoted to president in 2013. Jay has been instrumental in growing IHOP's business and expanding its reach internationally. Under their leadership, IHOP has become one of the most recognizable brands in the restaurant industry.
Jay Johns has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in Administrative Sciences from 1981-1983. They also have an Executive Leadership Program Certificate and a Leadership Blackbelt Certificate from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management in 2006 and 2005 respectively. Their field of study is in Business and Six Sigma/Lean Management.
